Practical Information for my Hospital Stay
Here, we’ll discuss what you’ll go through when you are admitted to the hospital prior to surgery. If you have any questions, your care team will be happy to answer them for you.
Day of Admission
On the day of admission, you’ll arrive at the hospital. If a friend or family member accompanies you by car, they can drop you at the main entrance of the hospital. If they require parking, there is a paid underground car park.
Hospital reception is in the entrance hall of the civilian hospital. On the day of your expected admission, visit the reception desk and the staff there will direct you to the digestive surgery hospital. Once you arrive there, you will be taken care of by the medical and administrative team. They will carry out all the necessary formalities, and a nurse will take you to your room so you can get settled
The staff in the digestive surgery ward will explain everything you need to do, and how to prepare for the operating room. They do this with patients every day, so they’re able to answer any questions you might have.
During your stay in the hospital you may wish to activate the television in your room. This is a paid service, and you can order it at the office next to reception.
Your friends and family who come to visit you will have access to a relaxation room on the 2nd floor. The hospital also has a cafeteria and newspaper stand on the ground floor.
Day of Operation
On the day of your operation, stretcher bearers will accompany you to the operating room. As soon as you arrive in the operating room, the operating team will take care of you before, during, and after your operation. Once your surgery is over, you will be moved to the recovery room. Once you are awake, you will be taken back to your room so you can begin a full recovery.
